What happens when you read a sales letter that contains a long list of benefits enumeration? What happened to me was that all my resistance collapsed under the machine gun fire of the reason I had to buy this service or product.
When copywriter text is pelted with one advantage after another, I simply have no objection or reason not to buy fast enough to keep up with the copywriter.
As a freelance writer, I appreciate the work it takes to write these types of texts. Many writers barely seem to be able to come up with one or two benefits, let alone a complete list. So I know this isn’t a writer who just sits down and makes some quick copies.
But writing a long list of declarations of interest is not as difficult as it may seem at first glance. There are a few ways to organize your thoughts so that you can write a long list of interesting sayings:
- Write down all possible problems that your product or service solves for customers.
- Write down the consequences of not doing business with you or the consequences of delaying action.
- Think about any emotional rewards your product or service could give readers.
- Now also write down the logical rewards that your product or service offers.
- List all the reasons your readers should do business with you.
